A former flight attendant of Cebu Pacific shared that perseverance and determination will feed you not anyone’s opinion.
Maureen Maurice Avila who is unemployed for one and a half months due to Covid-19 impact has been terminated on October 16.
“Yes, I am officially unemployed. I am now considered an ex-flight attendant! I had to ‘reset my wings’ for the time being,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
She added that it took her so long to accept and post her current employment status on social media. “Madaming nagtatanong sakin pero hindi ko nirereplyan kasi nahihiya ako. Feeling ko kasi parang nagfail ak sa buhay kait alam ko na may pandemic at kailangan ito gawin ng kumpanya,” she further added.
Avila who is now selling LPG for their neighbors revealed that she suffered stress, skipped meals, and cried over and over again for two weeks.
“Eventually natanggap ko din naman. Bakit? Nasaktan ako. Pinaghirapan ko to. Pangarap ko to. Eto ang mundo ko. Eto ang bumubuhay samin ng pamilya ko,” she said.
“Hindi dapat ikahiya na natanggal ka sa trabaho. To others na nawalan ng trabaho during this pandemic, don’t lose hope,” she added.
Avila is still planning to expand her wings soon to ‘paint the sky yellow, blue, and red again.’
“We will have our wings again. Maraming salamat, Cebu Pacific. Binago mo ang buhay ko. Binago mo ang pagkatao ko. It was a pleasure to be on board,” she said.
