1,500 tourist visa holders denied entry in Dubai; all to be sent back to their country

After failing to secure travel requirements, more than 1,500 tourist visa holders were denied entry at Dubai International Airport. 

Citing a Khaleej Times report, a total of 1,374 Pakistani nationals were not allowed to enter the emirate upon landing in the airport. if this number, 1,276 have already been repatriated or sent back to their country of origin. 

Meanwhile, 98 Pakistanis are still waiting to be repatriated as of Tuesday as per the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai. 

On Monday, 17 of 66 Indians have been sent back home. 

“The remaining are still inside the airport. We expect they will be repatriated in a day or two,” Neeraj Agarwal, Consul for Press, Information, and Culture at the Consulate General of India in Dubai, said. 

The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai has recently issued an advisory, urging Filipino residents in the UAE who are returning via the Dubai International Airport to secure approval from the Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) or the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA).
