A Filipina expatriate woman in Sharjah who was trying to escape police arrest has died after falling from a six-storey building on Sunday, October 25.

According to a Gulf News report, the incident happened in the Al Mureija area of Sharjah around 12am.

The Filipina woman, 30, was reportedly with an Arab man, who is suspected of being her boyfriend in an empty apartment.

The apartment does not belong to the Arab man.

It revealed in the initial report that the building watchman noticed the presence of the couple and reported the matter to the building owner, who went to the place to investigate the issue.

The Filipina and the Arab man were found sitting on a rug on the floor and smoking shisha.

After seeing the couple, the building owner called police authorities.

The woman, after seeing the police, ‘tried to escape from the police, and so she jumped from the sixth floor of the building.’

Her attempt to escape the scene was witnessed by several neighbors who watched her plunged to the ground.

The unidentified woman had sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Her body was then taken to Al Qasimi Hospital around, while the Arab man has been arrested and taken to police custody for interrogation.
