More OFWs in UAE to receive AED730 as Pres Duterte approves additional P5.1-B fund

- Advertisment -

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the additional P5.1-billion fund for the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Abot Kamay ang Pagtulong (AKAP).

The DOLE-AKAP program aims to provide OFWs who lost their job due to the Covid-19 pandemic with $200 or AED730.

The program was launched on April 8.

According to recent data, some 21,500 OFWs in the UAE have already received cash assistance.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the latest fund allocation came after the president gave Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado the go signal.
