An Abu-Dhabi based woman was fined with AED15,000 for calling a man inside a mall ‘impolite and shameless.’
The decision was announced by the Abu Dhabi Courts of Appeals.
Citing records, the woman called the man insulting words in a public place. The man then filed a formal complaint against her.
The woman was ordered to pay AED1,000 by the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court.
Meanwhile, the man then followed up with a civil suit claiming AED100,000 for moral damages.
The civil court ordered her to pay a total of AED15,000 in compensation, in addition to court fees.
She argued that the man had attempted to stalk her daughter and pass on his contact details to her.
However, the civil court trashed her appeal for lack of evidence.
