An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Dubai revealed that she finally received the cash assistance given by the Philippine government through the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) five months after filing an application.
“Expect the unexpected. Five months of waiting and finally worth it super bless. POLO-Dubai, thank you so much!” Marah Mae wrote in her YouTube vlog description.
In her vlog posted on September 27, she said she has received a call from one of the customer service representatives of POLO-Dubai, asking why was she not responding to their email.
She told the POLO official that she didn’t receive an email from them.
She was told to appear in the government post to claim the AED730 which is part of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Abot Kamay ang Ang Pagtulong (AKAP).
The program gives one-time financial assistance of P10,000 or AED730 for displaced OFWs due to Covid-19.
Marah Mae told the incident to the official and she was told that ‘it doesn’t matter’ as long as she received a call from them.
She was also told the process on how to claim it and what requirements does she need to bring.
So guys, huwag kayo mawalan ng pag-asa,” she further added.
