People who claimed Covid-19 killed family of 5 in UAE now jailed

-

- Advertisment -

Authorities in the UAE have jailed those individuals who have fabricated a story of the death of five people from one family due to Covid-19.

The Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal has ordered the imprisonment of fake news peddlers.

In August, the National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) denied the story.

The incident was publicly broadcasted on Abu Dhabi Sports Channel in August.

“The family does not exist and the story is completely fictitious and made up,” Saif Al Dhaheri, the official spokesperson of the NCEMA, said.
