The Department of Labor and Employment said that they don’t see problems in the employment of overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the US under the governance of President-elect Joe Biden.
The new president, set to assume power in January, won the elections in the US recently.
“We don’t have so much to complain about the treatment of OFWs there. We haven’t heard much of OFWs being abused in the US. And I don’t think there will be any problems in the treatment of our country as far as America is concerned,” Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said.
He added that only those who enter the country illegally are suffering from abuses and other problems.
“The ones being abused there are not OFWs but the illegal entrants, such as those who supposedly went there to study but looked for jobs,” he added.
