Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna may be ready for US emergency use and distribution in weeks, US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said.
The initial inoculation may start this year.
“We now have two safe and highly effective vaccines that could be authorized by the Food and Drug Administration and ready to distribute within weeks,” Azar added.
Pfizer, on Wednesday, affirmed that the effectiveness of their vaccine is now at 95 percent. It was also reported the Pfizer’s dose protects older people most at risk of dying.
