As the UAE celebrated its 49th national day today, a top Philippine official in the Philippine Consulate thanked the host country for welcoming and allowing Filipinos to be part of their family.
There are about a million overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the UAE with over 500,000 currently living in the emirate of Dubai.
Filipinos in the country are primarily working in architecture, construction, cargo shipping, design engineering, energy, information technology, marketing, medical, real estate, among others.
In celebration of the 49th national day of the country, Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes took to Twitter to send his message to the leaders of the country.
“Happy 49th UAE. Many thanks for welcoming and allowing Filipinos to be a part of your family,” Cortes wrote both on Twitter and Instagram.
