A 34-year-old Filipino has recently received commendations from His Highness Shiekh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council for taking part in the Dubai Fitness Challenge.

On his page, Sheikh Hamdan thanked everyone who took part in the event which is an initiative that works to transform Dubai into one of the world’s most active and dynamic cities.

“It motivated us all to set tougher personal goals and actually achieve them,” he wrote.

A special mention was made to two individuals who he called the stars of the challenge.

Paolo Mangilinan, a Filipino national, swam a marathon distance of 10km per day for 30 days.

Meanwhile, Ghani Souleyman, a Togolese national, ran an ultramarathon of 45km per day for 30 days as well.

Mangilinan’s swim took approximately two and a half hours each day and was joined mostly by a solitary kayak.
