Alfred Vargas included in Pres Duterte’s list of allegedly corrupt officials

- Advertisment -

Filipino actor Alfred Vargas and Quezon City 5th Representative Alfred Vargas is included in the list of lawmakers who are allegedly involved in corruption.

President Rodrigo Duterte, in his address yesterday, disclosed the names of lawmakers in the list prepared by the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission.

“It has come to me officially recorded, received, recorded in the books, so it becomes a public document. Whether I read it or not, this will come out because they have the right to have access to information, anybody,” Duterte said.

He assured the lawmakers in the list that his disclosing their names was not meant to indict or destroy them.

“I just want to assure everybody that my reading of the name is not a condemnation or an indictment that you are guilty of something. In the same manner that I would tell people that do not take gospel truth,” he added.

In the records, Vargas allegedly demanded a one-time P1-million enrollment fee in addition to the 10 and 12 percent SOP that has to be paid before the project could be awarded to the contractor.

Below are the lawmakers allegedly involved in corruption:

Occidental Mindoro Rep. Josephine Ramirez Sato
Former Ifugao Congressman Teodoro Baguilat
Misamis Occidental Rep. Henry Oaminal
Isabela Rep. Alyssa Sheena Tan
Northern Samar Rep. Paul Daza
Quezon Rep. Angelina Tan
Benguet Caretaker and ACT-CIS Rep. Eric Yap
Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman
