Filipino Institute founder inducted into Knights of Rizal-Dubai chapter

-

The founder of the Filipino Institute, Mr. Gabriel John Rimando, is among the newly inducted officers into the Emarat Dubai Chapter of the Order of Knights of Rizal (OKR). The chartering into the chapter was held during the celebration of Rizal Day, December 30, at the Philippine Consulate in Dubai.

Rimando took the oath yesterday night, pledged to uphold and promote the ideals of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the Philippine national hero and engender patriotism among fellow Filipinos abroad.

The founder of the training institution was also granted the first degree rank of Knights of Rizal.

Rimando, even before joining the order, has already been following the teachings of Rizal and applying them to the Filipino Institute.

“For Dr. Jose Rizal, the mission of education is to elevate the country to the highest seat of glory and to develop the people’s mentality. He also believed that only through education could the country be saved from domination,” he said.

Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes was also present during the knighting, exaltation, and conferment.
