A Chinese drama has allegedly used ‘Filipino maid’ as a form of insult.
Netizens took a screenshot of the scene in Make My Heart Smile, where an actor allegedly mentioned the following lines in Chinese: “ You look like a Filipina maid.”
“As a [Filipino], [I find it] very offensive and disrespectful. This is a Chinese drama by the way. I am so disappointed,” Twitter user @kthseokkity wrote.

i keep seeing ppl blaming the scriptwriter only. what about the actors who agreed w/ saying that statement? the director who also agreed? not one person from the whole production team thought that it’s offensive and wrong, to the point it got aired. that’s the saddest part.

Chinese people hates Filipinos. Really. The feeling is mutual, but our teleseryes and other media creations do not resort in using such awful lines.
