A 65-year-old Filipina in North Vancouver, Canada has died on the spot after a head-on crash last March 2, her husband, however, is now in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

The Filipina community worker was reportedly driving on her way home with her husband, Leonilo, when a suspected drunk driver hit their car.

“We are currently in the midst of an investigation of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to provide samples of breath for purposes of an impaired investigation,” Sgt. Peter DeVries told CBC News.

The Filipina has worked as a caregiver in Hong Kong and Canada, and was a member of Migrante BC.
