A former overseas Filipino worker, who had an ultimate dream of owning a resort back in the Philippines, has finally fulfilled her dreams.

Vagelyn Tumbaga-Pacio, the former HR director of Dusit Thani Hotel Dubai, established J&V Holiday Homes & Resort in the heart of Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union.

“Don’t be afraid to start again, this time you’re not starting from scratch, you’re starting from experience,” the CEO of the holiday homes and resort wrote on her Facebook post.

From an employee to an entrepreneur, Pacio, along with her husband, has also simultaneously opened their carwash last month.

A global Filipino achiever, the former OFW has also become an icon of womanhood, a trailblazing lady of charity, community patroness, and a world-class hotelier.

While in Dubai, she rose from the ranks of human resource secretary to the youngest general manager in the Middle East of a four-star hotel in UAE at the age of 28.

Among her achievements, while working in the hospitality industry, was being listed on the 8 Women of Substance 2018, making her the first Filipina and Asian awardee to grace the award.

Pacio has started her career as a secretary with AED1,000 monthly salary and shared a room.
