Started as an OFW 18 years ago, Pinay ventures into laundry business in Dubai

Passion, determination, dedication, hard work, and perseverance–this is the formula that Dubai-based Filipina entrepreneur Maria Raymundo used for more than 18 years abroad to achieve what she has now. Currently, Raymundo is the managing director of Yensolou Laundry Service, a laundry business that provides Dubai residents with value-unique services in the Port Saeed area.

She arrived in Dubai in 2002 and initially worked in the hospitality industry as a guest relations executive for a hotel. The Filipina moved to another establishment and worked as banquet coordinator for a beach resort and was promoted as a banquet sales manager before moving to IHG Group–Holiday Inn Dubai Al Barsha to work as an events manager.

Exploring her career options, Raymundo was then hired as a business development manager for Lals Group and was later then promoted to sales and operations manager and customer service manager. She was then moved to Leva Hotel to work as a director of corporate sales.

After getting the right knowledge and experience, Raymundo, who has an entrepreneurial spirit, founded the Yensolou Laundry Services. “As my passion is in sales and events, I love interaction, socialization, organizing events with a professional approach with our clientele,” she said.

“My advice to all my kababayans is to keep dreaming, work with honesty and integrity and be innovative. They should also be open-minded and optimistic. Always think outside the box, be passionate and happy about what you are doing then aim higher for a better future,” Raymundo added.
