A photo of a red car with IV fluid and oxygen has been making the rounds on social media. The car, according to the uploader, has a Covid-19 patient inside as hospitals reach capacity from a new surge of Covid-19 cases.

The photo was shared by Dr. Jamie Ysabel Amposta on her Facebook account.

“I never thought something like this can happen in my lifetime. I know this is not ideal at all but this is the best we can do for our ailing patients. Don’t shout at us if we say we can’t accommodate you anymore because wala na talaga,” she said.

“To our patients who understand, thank you po. Thank you po for your little treats just because we accommodated you kahit nasa parking lot and wheelchair lang kayo. You uplift us that way. To me fellow doctors, I know my patients kayo need to admit but this is the real situation, our nurses are also short-handed. Even IV stands ubos na that very IV stand ako pa gumawa nyan with medical tapus just so we can bring it outside,” she wrote.
