Filipino Institute to hold in-person grad ceremonies; those who graduated online may also join

- Advertisment -

The Filipino Institute has been allowed to conduct in-person graduation ceremonies on Friday, April 9, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Deira. Those who have graduated virtually, or during the times when UAE restricted conducting events, may also join the commencement rites to formally and officially receive their diplomas and certificates on stage.

The face-to-face ceremonies will be happening at the Zabeel Ballroom of the hotel in Deira. Those who are interested to join the small gathering may go to the Filipino Institute campus and pay a fee of AED130. An additional AED50 fee will be collected for those who opt to rent toga.

“Graduates who have already claimed their certificates and are planning to attend commencement are advised to submit back their certificates for the official acceptance on stage,” Mr. Gabriel John Rimando, president and founder of the Filipino Institute, said.

Those who have previously graduated in Ajman and Sharjah are also encouraged to join the graduation ceremonies.

Meanwhile, graduating students who plan to attend the commencement are advised to send a close-up of a half-body shot to the dean-in-charge through WhatsApp for graduation presentation purposes.

Rimando said attendees are all required to follow the safety protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
