A top official from the health department in the UAE said that children aged three and above must wear face masks to avoid contracting the deadly coronavirus. During a media briefing recently, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson of the UAE Health Sector and Director of the Communicable Diseases Department of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) confirmed this.
She urged residents to avoid taking their kids to crowded areas, including playgrounds so as to prevent them from getting the virus.
Earlier, the health authorities in the country announced that children with breathing issues or chronic illnesses shouldn’t wear face masks. Al Hosani said that kids who have difficulty in removing the masks on their own should be exempted too.
