AED2,000 fine for parking vehicle at bus stops in UAE

- Advertisment -

Did you know that illegal parking at bus stops in UAE attracts a AED2,000 fine?

Authorities in the capital have warned motorists against using these designated spaces for buses for pick up or drop off,

Oftentimes, when vehicles parked at bus stops, the incoming bus has no space to stop and ends up waiting on the road. And if the bus waits in the middle of the road, it leads to a traffic block in multiple directions and even accidents.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport urged community members not to park their vehicles in bus stops or any other areas that are dedicated to public means of transport.

Field inspectors and cameras are situated in the place to catch violators. Violators will be fined AED2,000.

“ITC will cooperate with its stakeholders to monitor and detect any private vehicles or taxis that use the side bus stops,” ITC said.
