UAE has raised AED100 million from 185,000 sponsors for its ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign 10 days after its launching to aid vulnerable communities in 30 countries.
Funds were raised from philanthropists, individuals, and companies inside and outside the country. It will be used to buy and distribute food parcels equivalent to 100 million meals, in the region’s largest food drive to reach 30 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America.
The campaign run by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGQ) continues to receive donations despite achieving its target in record time.
The donations will feed people in Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, Sierra, Leone, Ghana, Pakistan, Egypt, Palestine, Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Angola.
