An Afghan national, 38, who has allegedly killed his own wife, 32, and his two minor daughters, aged 12 and 13, respectively, in their apartment in the Al Rashidiya area in Ajman, is set to stand trial in the emirate of Ajman.
According to the police investigation, the victims have died after their skulls were smashed with a hammer, and were strangled to death.
The Ajman Authorities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior UAE, had coordinated with Interpol to track down the suspect in his home country.
The triple murder case was reported in December 2019 when the police found an Afghan mother and her two daughters dead in their apartment in Ajman.
The mother of the deceased woman had called the police and expressed her concern about not hearing from her daughter and two granddaughters despite them being at home.
The search operation team has also found a three-year-old daughter of the Afghan national lying unconscious inside the apartment. The child was rushed to Khalifa Hospital and was handed over to her grandmother. The child was found in a state of shock as she was found to be starving for days since the crime took place.
Another witness to the case is the 10-year-old daughter of the accused. She told the prosecution that she saw her father entering one of her sister’s room, came out, and locked it from outside. She then entered to other sister’s room only to hear a momentary scream which fell to a deafening silence in no time. The 10-year-old daughter then ran across her mother’s room and found that her father and mother were quarreling. Soon, her mother was hit with a hammer and was strangled to death.
