Passenger from Dubai caught hiding 810g gold in rectum

A total of 810 grams of gold and is worth around AED200,000 was recovered from a man’s rectum at the Chennai Airport in India. The unnamed man came from Dubai. 

“On extraction, 810 grams of 24k gold valued at Rs 40.35 lakhs was recovered and seized. He was arrested. Further probe is on,” customs authorities told ANI. 

It was not the first time the particular man was arrested for smuggling gold in the country. According to reports, he was also arrested in October last year. 

In a separate report, two Uzbekistan passengers from Dubai have been recently arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for allegedly smuggling gold in the form of dentures and metallic chains.
