Dubai exchange centre: AED to PHP remains around P13

- Advertisment -

An employee at a Dubai-based remittance and currency exchange centre said that the value of UAE’s Dirham to Philippine’s Peso remains to be around P13.

Rogel De Luna of LM Exchange told The Global Filipino Magazine that after Google showed a higher Philippine peso value, he received tons of inquiries through calls and messages if there was a surge in the exchange rate between the currencies.

De Luna believes that there was a technical glitch around 4pm online–wherein the search engine Google showed that 1 Dirham is valued at 16 Pesos.

“Walang nabago sa rate natin mula umaga ay P13.57 na ang peso rate natin. Samakatuwid tayo sa LM Exchange ang nag bibigay ng pinaka mataas na exchange rate pag dating sa AED = PHP,” he said.

“Kaya naman ikinagulat ko ang sunod sunod na tawag at messages kung totoo ba ang rate na lumabas sa Google,” he added.

He revealed that even the Dirham to Pakistan Rupee had a surge in the currency rate.

De Luna, who has been living and working in the UAE for 10 years now, said that he never got to experience nor witness a flat rate of P15.

“Nawa’y makapagbigay ng paliwanag ang Google sa nangyari dahil talaga namang ikinagulantang ng mga pinoy ang pangyayari sa UAE,” he said.

Google hasn’t released a statement as of this writing.

LM Exchange has branches in IBN Batuta Mall and Satwa.
