Dubai metro staff spotted removing social distancing stickers

In a series of photos being shared by netizens online, it seems like Dubai Metro employees are removing the social distancing stickers all across stations. 

As uploaded by @sathik_irfan, a group of staff working for the public transport authority working hand in hand to remove the stickers on the floor that bears ‘Keep Safe Distance’ message. 

This came after the country reported 298 Covid-19 cases. This is the first time that the country saw below 300 Covid-19 cases in over a year. 

The number of active cases in the UAE is now only 5,638. 

Authorities have also eased some restrictions on wearing facemasks. 

Below are the six places where residents are not required to wear facemasks: 

> Exercising in public places
> Traveling in a private vehicle with family members
> Swimming pools and beaches
> Closed places when you are alone
> At salons and beauty centres for specific treatments
> Medical centres
