Philippines- Tropical Storm Kompasu, also known as Typhoon Maring, ragged through Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley. The typhoon entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on October 7 and left the evening of October 13 with severe destructions to Northern Luzon.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, as of October 14, there were 30 deaths caused by flash floods and landslides caused by heavy rain and winds.
NCRRMC pointed out that only nineteen of the mortalities have been confirmed, and the other eleven were still under further validation.
More than 50,000 families were displaced by the storm and had left a trail of damaged of 1 billion pesos to loss in agriculture.
