The Philippine labour representative to Jeddah, Roel Martin, disagreed with the Department of Labour Secretary Silvestre Bello III warning of deployment ban of overseas Filipino workers to Saudi Arabia.

According to the report of The Filipino Times, Martin said that he is not keen on the idea of Secretary Bello about the ban, stressing that this will have a massive impact on Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.

Although, Martin reiterates that the Philippine Overseas Labour Office (POLO) in Jeddah will violate the labor rights of OFWs who have been unpaid since 2016 by different companies.

He added that Saudi Arabia is now open to many opportunities for skilled workers, nurses, and professionals.
