Franki Russel, a former Pinoy Big Brother Otso housemate, is trying her luck to be the first Miss Universe UAE.
The Dubai-based Filipina took to her Instagram to announce the good news that she is part of the top 300 of the historical pageant.
“I am so inspired by everything this pageant stands for. Diversity, celebrating women from all walks of life, empowerment, and breaking stereotypes. Stepping out of my comfort zone never felt so good,” she wrote in a caption.
She added that she always wanted to try something new and challenge herself every day while having fun and staying true to who she is.
The Miss Universe UAE, which is being organized with Yugen Events, will take place on November 12.
“I could not be more pleased to welcome the very first representative from the United Arab Emirates to our globally televised event. The UAE is making a very important time in its history, from the signing of the Abraham Accords, to hosting the World Expo and there has never been a better time to shine a spotlight on the women residing in this country,” Miss Universe President Paula M. Shugart said in in a TFC report.
