The Breaking the stereotype campaign begins!

A few weeks ago, the first-ever Miss Universe- UAE started their official competition by screening almost 14,000 applicants aiming to wear the Miss Universe- UAE 2021 crown. Among these thousands of applicants, the panel chooses its top 300 candidates for the historic pageant.

Aside from celebrating women and diversity, the said event also advocates a campaign to break the stereotype.

It is good news to all Filipino pageant fans that a Filipina will vie for the crown this year. The Dubai-based Filipina Franki Russel, an actress and a former Pinoy Big Brother Otso housemate, entered Miss Universe-UAE, Top 30 candidates.

Russell was among the first batch of 30 to be named for the competition. Filipinos are still waiting for the second batch announcement and hope to see more Kabayan on stage.

There will be no swimwear category this year with respect for UAE culture and tradition.

On November 4, the candidates will be formally introduced at a charity dinner.

The preliminary rounds will take place on November 5, which will determine the Top 15. From the semi-finalists will be selected the top five.

Coronation night will take place at La Perle, Al Habtoor City, on November 7.
