Philippine Consulate-Dubai reminds Filipinos to manage financial well

The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates held the 5th edition of its Financial Literacy Program Module 1 entitled, “Saving, Budgeting and Debt Management” which was attended by Filipinos residing and working in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

In Vice Consul Aleah Marie Gica’s opening remarks, she noted that the stay of most OFs in Dubai is not permanent. Thus, she encouraged everybody to be self reliant, manage their finances well, and prepare for retirement. She also commended the initiative and interest of the participants in taking a step closer to self reliance.

The Philippine Consulate has been conducting Financial Literacy modules since 2017 with the assistance of Dubai based financial experts and managers to promote personal financial responsibility and empowerment among Filipinos in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The first module which was uploaded via Facebook live was shared 28 times and was viewed 4,600 times. With the hope of reaching and educating more Filipinos not only in Dubai, the Philippine Consulate will conduct the succeeding modules on Investment and Insurance, Investment in Property and Entrepreneurship and Re-Integration in the following weeks via Zoom webinar.
