Here are the testing, quarantine protocols for returning OFWs from UAE

As the Philippines lifted the quarantine requirements for travelers from the UAE, the Philippine Airlines (PAL) released testing and quarantine protocols for inbound fully vaccinated individuals from the GCC country.

Fully-vaccinated Filipinos returning from the UAE to the Philippines have two options with the testing requirements: they may present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to departure or undergo an RT-PCR test upon arrival.

Those who will choose the first option need no longer undergo quarantine. They will have to self-monitor for any symptoms until the 14th day, with the first day being the arrival date. Meanwhile, for the second option, facility-based quarantine will be required until a negative RT-PCR test is released.

Foreign nationals need to present a negative result from the RT-PCR test taken 72 hours prior to departure from the UAE. Upon arrival, facility-based quarantine is no longer required. They also need to self-monitor for any symptoms until the 14th day, with the first day being the arrival date.

Below are the testing and quarantine protocols for unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, individuals whose vaccination status cannot be independently validated, and those vaccinated but failed to comply with the test-before-travel requirements:

> Facility-based quarantine until the release of a negative RT-PCR test taken on the 5th day

> Self-monitor until the 14th day of arrival, with the date of arrival being the first day

> Foreign nationals shall be required to secure hotel reservations for at least six days

> In the case of an unvaccinated minor accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or guardian, the same protocol as stated above shall apply, but the guardian may be with the child during the quarantine period
