On Saturday, presidential aspirant and Senator Panfilo Lacson raised Philippine flags during his visit to Pag-asa Island in the West Philippine Sea despite tensions between Chinese and Philippine vessels.
Lacson paid a visit to Pag-asa Island and Puerto Princesa City to meet with citizens and members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Western Command (WesCom).
Former Philippine National Police (PNP) commander Guillermo Eleazar, spokeswoman Ashley “Ace” Acedillo, and former Interior Secretary and National Unity Party Chairman Ronaldo Puno were also present during his visit.
During a brief morning program held as soon as they landed on Pag-asa, Lacson led the flag-raising ceremony, which included the playing of the Philippine national song.
