More fully vaccinated travelers will be welcomed to the Philippines as the country eases travel restrictions further.
Bureau of Immigration’s Commissioner Jaime Morente, in a statement, said that they are already preparing for the arrival of fully vaccinated tourists.
“While we are awaiting the official announcement from the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases), we have already put in place the needed manpower and facilities in preparation for this,” he said.
He also added that 99 immigration officials were deployed in various posts and offices, while immigration frontline personnel are not allowed to take leaves over the holiday season.
“We have also resumed the use of our e-gates for arriving Filipinos as it would greatly lessen the processing time for our kababayans who will be returning here for Christmas,” Morente said.
IATF has approved in principle the entry of international tourists in the Philippines from green countries, territories, and jurisdictions.
