PHP 4,900- PHP5,300: Increase in fees for passport renewal for OFWs in Middle East, is still ongoing

-

Senator Kiko Pangilinan spoke out against an increase in passport renewal fees for overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

Passport renewal fees have increased from P4,900 to P5,300.

Instead of outsourcing passport processing, the senator suggested that embassies increase their staffing.

The senator expressed concern about the additional burden placed on OFWs already affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
