PH: BOQ monitors travel from South Africa, nations with Omicron variant

-

According to the Philippines Bureau of Quarantine, the agency is monitoring all passengers from South Africa and other nations that have B.1.1.529 coronavirus or Omicron.

The experts confirmed that the new variant is more contagious than the existing Delta variant.

“Dahil sa bagong variant ng COVID-19 na kinatatakutan ngayon dahil sinasabing nakakahawa ng 500 times more infectious sa Delta virus,” he said.
