Recruitment offices in Saudi Arabia halted hiring Filipino helpers after Department of Labor and Employment’s decision to suspend sending domestic workers.
According to the report in the Filipino Times, the hiring offices received a letter from the Philippines Embassy notifying them of the suspension last week.
The embassy stated that the suspension came as a result of the Ministry of Labor’s new regulations governing the contractual relationship between Filipino domestic workers and their foreign employers.
The Saudi recruitment offices, on the other hand, have no idea when the temporary suspensions will be lifted.
