Typhoon Odette wreaked havoc on the Visayas and sections of Mindanao last week, killing at least 208 people, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The PNP’s death toll, on the other hand, is much higher than the NDRRMC’s (National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council(NDRRMC) )’s figure of 58. The disaster service stated that it is still confirming information from storm-affected areas.
According to the PNP National Operations Center, 52 persons were reported missing, and 239 were injured as a result of the onslaught of Odette, the fiercest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year.
