Med students in UAE sing ‘Baby Shark’ to distract one-year-old undergoing surgery

In a now-viral video, a group of medical students is seen singing the viral hit ‘Baby Shark’ to distract a one-year-old baby while he undergoes surgery.

On its Instagram account, Gulf Medical University said that the surgery was done on a one-year-old patient and that the procedure was to be done on local anesthesia.

“The baby was crying and moving a lot. Just to try to ease the patient, the students started singing to distract him and a beautiful moment was captures where the baby is no longer distressed, but enjoying his time in the theatre,” the post read.

The original post has been liked by nearly 2,000 users with 30 comments.

“You guys rock,” one comment read.

The video has been reuploaded multiple times on TikTok.
