An Asian man who stole money from his own company will be deported after serving three-month imprisonment and paying a fine of AED30,000.
The 35-year-old expat was caught stealing from his company and hiding the stolen money worth AED30,000 in a yard near the office last November 2021.
He was caught when an investor reported the theft of AED30,000 from a safe of his company’s headquarters.
According to reports, the investor received a call from the accounting about the office’s back door being not properly closed. The drawer was also broken with a sharp instrument and money stolen from the safe.
A police officer arrived at the scene and after checking the CCTV, he spotted a man opening the office drawing and taking money from it.
The suspect admitted that he went to the office in the evening, used the back door, and hid in one of the corners to wait for the employees to leave.
He then stole from the cash box and quickly left the office and hid the money in a sandy area in the vicinity and returned to his residence.
He was arrested the next day from his own house.
