Filipino-British TV and events host James Deakin, while visiting Dubai last week, shared one of his unforgettable experiences when he thought a non-Filipino wanted to take a photo with him.
The automotive journalist and video blogger, through his verified Facebook page, recounted: “So, while walking around and checking out the local sites with some friends, I was stopped on the street by a guy who wasn’t Filipino that asked me for a picture. I was so kilig. So I graciously said “I thought my only followers over here were kabayans” and went for the selfie with him.”
The non-Filipino guy, continued Deakin, looked at him strangely and asked what was he doing.
“I want you to take my picture. Hindi pala fan,” he added.
His post on Facebook has now more than 56,000 reactions, 1,200 comments, and 200 shares.
Deakin has been spotted roaming around Dubai. On January 24, he posted a photo of him with his friends visiting Kooya Filipino Eatery which was just launched this month and is still in soft opening.
While in Dubai, he had also ‘the ultimate stress reliever’ by visiting the Dubai Autodrome.
“No holds barred! These guys let you go as fast as your angels can fly! What an experience!!!!! I took the all-new M4, which is an absolute beast. They have Ferraris, formula cars, Abarths and a while bunch of other stallions that you can let loose around here. I’ll post the vids soon! May the g force be with all of you!” he wrote.
