A Dubai-based travel expert affirmed that UAE’s new decision to scrap the rapid RT-PCR test for passengers entering the country is good news both for passengers and the travel industry.
Mr. Geoffrey Salatan told Gulf News that the scrapping of PCR test for inbound travelers is good news not only for passengers but also for the travel and airline industry.
“This is another proactive move from the UAE government. Psychologically and financially, this will ease the burden of travelers coming to the country. Imagine the amount of time and money they would save because the UAE has made it easier for them to travel. This is a strategic move that will definitely increase the volume of inbound passengers which is beneficial to every industry,” he added.
Starting February 26, fully vaccinated passengers entering the UAE are not required to present a negative PCR test result. They only need to show a vaccine certificate with a readable QR code. For UAE residents, the vaccine certificate may be downloaded on the Al Hosn app.
