Residents in the UAE have been warned against Amazon delivery scams that send suspicious links.
The UAE Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority posted a skit on their socials about the scam that is making the rounds on social media.
“Some people will send you an SMS with a link pretending to be an order from Amazon,” a character from the short skit, Abdullah, said.
The link asks for the recipients’ personal information.
“I knew it was fake because I didn’t order anything,” another character, Yasser, replied.
“Do not put your personal information by SMS links. Open the Amazon app or website and make sure,” the message from the screen informs users.
