Visa-free entry to Japan for Filipinos pushed by DFA exec

-

A Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) official has vowed to work with Japan on the visa-free entry of Filipinos to the Asian country.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri and Sagip Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, during the Commission on Appointments (CA) committee affairs hearing, hoped that Japan would allow Filipinos to enter their country without a visa.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan Mylene Garcia-Albano assured lawmakers: “Thank you for that suggestion… That is something that I can certainly pursue.”

Japan is reportedly opening its tight border restrictions after two years on October 11. This means that tourists can enter the country even without a visa and they no longer need to go through a travel agency.
