Joemar Resurreccion Tagala is the winner of the 2nd Dakilang Manggagawang Pilipino (DPM) sa UAE 2022 initiated by Pinas Cargo.

He is a sales executive with a major telecoms firm for five years now. Joemar is an active member of a faith community in Sharjah and has been living in the UAE for eight years. He is 29 years old and married for almost four years to Chinie Jane Ching who incidentally was last year’s second placer. They have a two-year old daughter.

Chinie said they were sweethearts back home and that Joemar used to work as a seaman who gave up his career to work in the UAE and take a very low paying job just to be with her. She works as an air hostess for nine years already.

The organizers said they wanted to showcase the struggles and successes of ordinary Filipino workers in the UAE. The awarding ceremony held last Sunday, September 25, also recognized nine other individuals of various work responsibilities who embodied integrity, hard work, genuine love of God, family and the Philippines.

Joemar received Dhs5,000 in cash from two sponsors, a 4-day/3-night tour package in Georgia, a set of pearls, an Android phone, and many other prizes and gift vouchers.
