UAE’s decision to drop use of face masks in most public places draw mixed reactions


The decision of the UAE to make it optional to wear face masks in public places drew mixed reactions. 

While many residents welcome the decision following the decline of Covid-19 cases in the UAE, some pointed out the risks of getting afflicted with the virus. 

Starting September 28, 2022, residents in the UAE are no longer mandated to wear face masks in most public places, including inside malls, supermarkets, and restaurants. 

Authorities, meanwhile, advised the elderly, those who have chronic diseases, and people of determination to continue wearing face masks to protect themselves from getting the virus.
