Filipino mixed martial arts fighters Genil Francisco, Jayson Margallo, and Mark Gregory Valerio put up a strong showing at UAE Warriors 36 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Margallo yielded to his opponent Canada’s Xavier Alaoui in a bantamweight bout.
In the lightweight category, Francisco made his UAE Warriors debut against Russian submission specialist Shamil Magomedov. Francisco won by submission via rear naked choke.
Valerio, meanwhile, went up against Dennis Buzukja from the United States in another lightweight match. Valerio showed impressive striking skills, but Buzukja’s grappling proved to be too much, as he secured a unanimous decision victory.
Despite the losses, the Filipino fighters received praise for their performances, with Margallo and Valerio showing impressive striking skills, while Francisco displayed his toughness and durability.
