Filipino actress Sheryl Cruz has proudly announced that her daughter, Ashley Bustos, is set to graduate summa cum laude from San Francisco State University this May. Ashley Bustos, majoring in psychology, has achieved this highest honor, leaving her mother both proud and overjoyed.
Cruz shared the good news through her Instagram page on May 14 by posting a screenshot of her video call with Ashley. She noted that the announcement was the “best Mother’s Day gift” she has ever received. In her emotional post, she wrote, “Best Mother’s Day gift I’ve ever had—learning that Ashley is graduating a summa cum laude this May 2023. So proud [and] blessed to have you, anak.” The term ‘anak’, a Filipino word meaning child, reflects the affectionate relationship between Cruz and her daughter.
Following the announcement, the mother and daughter duo received an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities. Among the well-wishers were actresses Tina Paner, Geneva Cruz, and Jennifer Sevilla, who took to the comments section to express their joy and congratulate Ashley on her significant academic achievement.
