Man who leaves Dubai to take care of aging parents wins $1 million at Dubai Duty Free draw

A 29-year-old Indian national based in Chennai, India, emerged as the latest lucky winner of the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion draw, taking home a staggering $1 million.

The draw, held at Concourse B of Dubai International Airport, saw Prasanth Thirunavukarasu’s ticket number 3059 from Millennium Millionaire Series 423 as the winning entry, which he purchased online on May 11.

He had left his job at a Dubai bank after a year to return to India and care for his aging parents.

Displaying an admirable commitment to his family, he decided to purchase the last remaining ticket online on the day of his flight back home.

Little did he know that this impulsive purchase would change his life forever.

“Definitely, this win will help me to look after my parents now that they’re old and sick. Also, I will be saving some money for the marriage of my two younger sisters. Big thanks to Dubai Duty Free. Now I can fulfill all my responsibilities for my parents and family,” he said.

Thirunavukarasu’s win makes him the 210th Indian national to claim the $1 million prize since the inception of the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999.

Indian nationals have been the most avid participants in the promotion, consistently showing their enthusiasm and support.
